It stopped raining before dawn, but remained cloudy most of the day. following breakfast here with Ken, I went to our, church, at York Beach, to copy bulletins stopping at the cable company to exchange our data modem for a newer unit aa suggested by the cable company. There was a long line, so did not wait. Stopped at the motel and chatted with Hal. Another couple of weeks and I will recommence work at the front desk. Completed copying and assembling bulletins for Sunday's Palm Sunday worship. Also copied orders of worship for the Easter sunrise service, and the Maundy Thursday worship service. During the trip home I again stopped at the cable company with old modem in hand. There still was a long line, but I waited it out and received the new unit. Also stopped at Hannaford's where I picked up a few grocery items. Took Clynk recyclable cans and bottles to the collection center and withdrew $275, bottle/can deposits from the church's account to take to the church treasurer on Sunday.

Traditional breakfast with Ken; fruit (cantaloupe), oatmeal, Danish washed down with coffee. I had my hearing aids tweaked (Greenland, NH), printed Palm Sunday church bulletin covers at Staples, shopped at Best Buy & Market Basket (Portsmouth, NH), then home to finalize church bulletins for Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, and Easter Sunrise worship services. Had 40 minute phone interview with State Department of Labor confirming my eligibility for unemployment benefits.
Attended Wells-Ogunquit School Districts production of Mary Poppins performed by students in their new high school auditorium. Very nicely done.

A cruel April Fools joke: 6-inches of snow. Neighbor with snowblower cleared around the cars. Ken did not go to work. Early afternoon Ken went out and shoveled the areas not cleared. Snow continued to fall but did nor accumulate very much more. We went to The Steakhouse for dinner. So excellent!

Recapping the week; Ken off on Monday, had to call the plumber to replace a seal in the leaking toilet, did the usual grocery shopping, filet minon for dinner (manager's special from Hannaford's) turned out nicely. Tuesday, I walked half of Wells Beach due to start of rain. Wednesday, met with paving contractor and received his bid for walkway and parking area restoration. Spent 1-1/2 hr. on phone and computer with Larry helping refine a spreadsheet he developed to justify his decision to move into a elder care community.
Today, beautiful sunshine, first in several days. Household tasks followed by work on the computer: this blog, church project labels for Ken, formatting bulletin for Sunday's Worship Café service.
copied the bulletin at church, then walked Ogunquit Beach on the return trip.

Recapping yesterday: walked Wells Beach, worked on financial payments for April, receive the refund check from Sears credit card account for overpayment when transferring the account to my new Discover card, watched the Oregon University Ducks basketball team trounce Kansas as part of the March Madness tournament.
Today, Ken & I attended church, followed by a Church Council meeting and lunch with Peggy, a church friend, at the hospital cafeteria. Discussed, by phone, with Larry his decision not to take a senior living apartment unit in Portland OR, that became available and wait for a larger unit to become available either in that complex or the future availability of one in another locale.

Sunday, larger than normal attendance at Worship Café. Our brunch group did not convene, Ken & I enjoyed a meal at the hospital cafeteria. Walked Ogunquit Beach later in the afternoon.
Monday, Ken off from work, we met with a landscaping contractor to review plans for a quote to repair and replace walkways and parking area. We grocery shopped in Portsmouth, stopping for hamburgers at Union Bluff in York. Church friends Carolyn and Don Parsons were there. We shared their table.
Tuesday, with Ken back at work, I walked Wells Beach. Received a phone message from Connie, of the Cutty Sark, that I am welcome there for another season. I will coordinate with Hal, the winter desk clerk to sub for him while he takes a few weeks off in April.
Wednesday, I met with another landscaping contractor to obtain quote. Raw windy day, but I ventured out and purchased a new shower curtain and bath mat to drip onto after showering. Picked up a bouquet of lilies to remind us that Spring is here, and some tea bags with which to ease the wintery chill.
Today, still chilly, but not as much wind. Prepared the church bulletins for Sunday's Worship Café. Walked Wells Beach. A light wind from the northwest flattened the surf causing the formidable Atlantic to be more like a big lake. Republican health care act to repeal and replace the existing Affordable Care Act with a less effective plan (Trumpcare) was scheduled to be voted on by the US House of Representatives but has been postponed or laid to rest...whatever.

Ken off to work. Following morning tasks I walked Wells Beach. Not too bad at 32-degrees and a light onshore breeze ruffling the surface of the sea just enough to produce surf music. Had to quit singing so that I could enjoy listening to it.
Sent inquiries to HomeAdviser.com for available contractors who would quote on replacing our back walkway and regarding the parking area so water will not puddle there. Received their response with names of 3 (sort of local) contractors. Had two immediate calls from local contractors with good references who were notified directly by the service. Have meetings scheduled with the two, here. One tomorrow and the other on Wed.

Bright sunshine this morning, but with wind. Ken back at work. Following AM tasks, I went to Hannaford's, picked up Rx and wine. Worked on church bulletin. Handled e-mail issues. Called Bren at work to check in after storm.
Found that my Sears credit account balance was transferred to my new Discover no-interest card. A payment I had sent Sear's to reduce transfer balance crossed with the transfer creating a $1500 credit at Sears. They will issue me a refund check. Should receive it around April 1.
OUTRAGE
We Americans are urged not to become complacent as a result of the current political atrocities. Complacency is, or can be viewed as, a form of acceptance. That stance would become a plank for the construction of an unstable less admired platform from which the world would view the United States of America. We are counseled to continually express our outrage and vent our dissatisfaction at our voting booths.
I am OUTRAGED:
that the sitting POTUS has accused the former administration of a serious political crime, wire tapping his residence, without a shred of evidence to support the allegation;
that there are apparent ties between current administration, along with recently fired presidential cabinet members, and the dictator and supporters of Russia;
where time is wasted in engaging in unconstitutional and irrelevant diatribe instead of filling essential cabinet positions;
at the consistent misunderstanding and misquoting of our US constitution and laws
at the narcissistic appearances before select supporters apparently to bolster the faltering POTUS image;

Snow started, on schedule, at 8AM. Wind picking up. Blizzard warning issued. We dealt with email and Facebook, keeping abreast of storm and political issues (repeal and replacement of Affordable Care Act). Ken took snow-day from work. Airports along NE coast all closed. Periodically checked snow height against exterior doors shoveling of entrance decks as required. Strong winds blew snow against windows where it collected obscuring view. Mid-afternoon Ken went out and shoveled the drifting snow along our entrance paths. Close to a foot accumulation as best as he could estimate due to drifting. I did my share nursing a snifter of brandy. We were fortunate not to have lost power as did many in the area. Stopped snowing mid-evening.

Ken's day off. After morning activities went to Portsmouth to grocery shop, gas up car. Took finger sandwiches, chips, ginger ale and had an in-car picnic on Pierce Island, Portsmouth. At home, noticed siding on seasonal neighbor's home blowing in wind. Ken secured it with masking tape. I called neighbors and advised them. Major snow storm forecast for tomorrow.

Phone call from Salem Advisory Group advising me that paperwork for home ownership issue is ready for filing. It is not possible to remove Pearson's name from the loan document, but it was changed from me AND him to me OR him. There is no title involved as the purchase was made via a personal loan. Therefore, like buying a lawnmower. I mailed the forms to the State,
I completed the bulletin and took it to copy at the church. Set the room up for Sunday's Worship Café service as usual.

Received call from Kevin Colley, Salem Advisory Group, telling me that he had found an attorney who would look into my home title issue. Asked me to bring paperwork to his office. I assembled paperwork to take to him on Monday.
Plumber, Bion Noble repaired leaking toilet in master bathroom, replaced faulty faucet in master bathroom sink and adjusted shower hot water handle.
I worked on a Personal Historian entry.

Volunteer at Soup's On, Wells Congregational Church. Estimate 50-60 guests, served baked ham, escalloped potatoes, peas, topped off with sherbet over fruit cocktail. Stacked chair following meal.
Received and activated my new Discover card in the mail. Sears Card balance will be transferred by Mar 14.
Had to contact Dept of Labor to correct an action they took against my account that was resolved several months ago. No hassle, simply the nuisance of having to get back into it again.

Ken off today, dermatologist appointment.
Helped him as he searched on-line for a local doctor. His primary care physician, in W. Hartford, is moving from that type of practice. He found two that sound good and are accepted by his health insurance.
I worked on church bulletin for Sunday and publicity for church.
Drove Ken to his appointment where he had a pre-cancerous lesion removed. He'll be home for a couple of days.
I finalized church bulletin, bulletin insert and publicity, checked and read e-mail.

Ken still home recouping.
Spent time online and researching my info for application for Discover card only to discover that I was not on the correct page for the 21 month 0% account. Finally finalized the process by phone. Approved with a $9000 credit limit. Spent another batch of time on-line adding time to my Tracfone.

Ken back to work today. I walked Wells Beach after he departed. As the tide was coming in the walk was mostly on small cobblestones, not on sand. Found a pretty piece of seaglass. E-mail to Bren. Prepared March payments of bills on Kennebunk Savings app. Prepared cantaloupe for breakfasts this week.
Direct deposit of my income tax refund was received.
SPOTUS (Supposed President of the US) first speech to Congress on TV. Hardly more than campaign rhetoric. Hope a way will be found to remove him from office!

Church service, followed by Church Council meeting.
Ken experimented with streaming the service with his smartphone. Fair results, will keep trying.
Dinner with the "church ladies" at hospital cafeteria. Prime rib. Very good.
At home, traditional Sunday crash. Ken shopped for snacks, etc., for Oscar Night.
Watched the Oscars, 7:30 pm - 12:30 am, then the TV news.

Ken back to work after vacation. Wrote publication for Mason's dinner benefitting our church and sent it to Marty and Mark for opinions.
Spoke via phone to editor of Sentinel. News items put in only if space is available.
Spoke with Sears rep; Bren has to call to get interest rate lowered on charge account. To get an account in my name alone would require me to apply like everyone else. No guarantee of credit limit until application is received.
Emailed Bren to let her know we survived the snow storms.
Larry called; at the bus stop in Palm Springs for th efirst leg of his journey home.
Went to Hannaford's to see if they had any issues of the York Weekly...no. Picked up a couple of items. Dropped off Clynk bag. Walked Ogunquit Beach. Stopped at Village Mkt...no York Weekly. Stopped at Rite Aid, none there either.
