It has been a couple of days since the Presidential Election resulted in the stunning defeat of Hillary Clinton. She won the popular vote, but lost the Electoral College vote. Many "Not my President" marches were held in many of the larger cities. There are Facebook postings trying to incite the idea of disbanding the Electoral College. Control of the Congressional House and Senate ended up under the red (Republican) umbrella. The nearly one-year old vacancy of a judge in the Supreme Court will quite likely be filled with one sympathetic to Republican values. So, it doesn't seem, to me, that much business can be transacted that favors Democratic bills.
Yesterday, I walked Ogunquit Beach a total of about 2 miles. It was a mild sunny day with a light wind that somewhat helped my injured disposition.
Today I attended a discussion relating to AARP/United Healthcare gap insurance and their Advantage health insurance plans. I need to cut premium costs and now have more information upon which to base my decision. I can continue my current plan that provides no deductible full coverage, adding the costs for prescription coverage and paying for minimal dental coverage. Or, I can pay a smaller copay up to an annual maximum of $5500, adding small copays for prescriptions, dental and eye care. If my health remains good, I might be better off with the smaller copay plan.
Also, during the past few days, I've been working with the computer doing church work. Getting the Sunday service bulletins formatted for copying, and preparing materials for participants in the church's forthcoming Spirit of Giving Christmas outreach program to help deserving children throughout Maine have a joyous Christmas.
